JR, born June 13th, 1957, was a man of many, many, many words. Whether he had a story to tell or knew some random fact about anything topical he always made sure there were no awkward silences in a conversation.
He loved to talk about the latest fashion trends, a great cigar he recently smoked, what horse just won the Breeder’s Cup that weekend, the rich deep history of bourbon, his deep love and understanding of rhythm and blues, his interest in cooking or grilling (and having a beer while he was at it), architectural differences in the downtown city scape, which helped build as he was part of the team that constructed Circle Center Mall.
He always had a story to tell in very deep detail and made it so interesting with his vibrancy and use of language that he really could transplant you there in that moment. It also made it tolerable when he would go on for hours.
JR prided himself on his appearance and you could inevitably count on him to look his best, even if he was just going to the grocery store. He was a classic sharp dressed man.
