Jerry L. Farmer, passed away on October 17, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born November 29th, 1946, in Indianapolis.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Karen and his daughters, Tammie Jo and Dawn Smith; grandchildren, Robert Garcia and Emma (Gunner) Harp; his brother, Raymond; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Goldie Cecelia Granger and James O. Farmer.
Jerry worked as a manager for Standard Grocery for 20 years in Indianapolis. After moving to California, he was a manager for Costco for 26 years.
Jerry spent his life caring for others. First as a caregiver for his mother, beginning at the age of 10. Then as a caregiver for his daughter, Tammie. He was told by doctors that his daughter would not live long. But, due to his dedicated love and devotion, Tammie just celebrated her 56th birthday.
Jerry’s loves, besides his family, were baseball, and his three pups: Dominoe, Destiny and Cinnamon. His passion in his later years was genealogy. Spending countless hours researching his family tree. Resulting in 179 large binders of family information.
Jerry will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Inland Empire Lighthouse for the Blind, 359 E. Parkcenter Circle, South, San Bernadino, CA 92408, in remembrance of his mother.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:30am until 11am on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, where funeral services will follow, beginning at 11. Burial will follow services in Washington Park
