Jerry Broaddus was born November 19, 1942, in Franklin, Indiana to Ruth Jane and Ernest Lee Broaddus. Gifted with a record-setting athletic prowess, his bigger than life personality and changing world view led him away from his hometown early.
As a proud member of the United States Air Force, Jerry traveled the world. Those travels allowed him to grow and learn about himself. Soon, his heart was stolen by the love of his life, Lieta and their union brought 3 children as well as a bonus child, all whom he loved dearly.
Jerry lived his life as something to be celebrated but also cherished, evidenced by his membership in The Black Panther Party. He held onto his joyful, witty, outrageously humorous attitude until he left this particular life on September 20, 2019.
Jerry will be remembered and celebrated by his “forever wife”, Lieta, his children Venus, Maurice, C. Anthony, Sara, Rohini, and Franciene, 16 grandchildren, one great grandchild and countless family, friends and loved ones.
