Jennifer Lynette Vanmeter

Jennifer Lynette VanMeter (Forrester), 38, of Camby, Indiana passed away January 15, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 22, 1980 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Mark and Pam Forrester; one of three children.

Jen was a 1998 Decatur High School graduate. She met the love of her life, Jeremy VanMeter, in high school, though it wasn’t until several years later that they reconnected via mutual friends and began their life together. They were married December 31, 2005 and spent the last 13 years building a life together and raising their son, Jake, who was born in 2011. They remain deeply in love at the time of Jennifer’s passing. Jennifer worked for Chase Bank, where she began as a bank teller. She finished her career out as branch manager and was very proud of her accomplishment. In 2014, Jen began her valiant fight with cancer. She was a determined woman and did not let her health keep her from being a wonderful mother, wife, sister, and friend. She was amazing with numbers, always looking for ways to save money and keep the family budget in line. She loved watching the Food Network and making copycat recipes of various dishes. Her family especially remembers her corn casserole and cheesecakes, a dessert she always made two at a time and in various flavors. Jen loved taking yearly trips to Nashville, Indiana and perusing the small shops with her family. Her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to meet her. She will be truly missed by all.

Jen is preceded in death by her father, Mark. Surviving to cherish her memory are loving husband of 13 years, Jeremy VanMeter; son, Jake VanMeter; mother, Pam Forrester; siblings, Cindy Forrester and Andrew Forrester; as well as a host of loving extended family members and cherished friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, January 21, 2019 from 10-1 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Funeral Services will start at 1 PM. Jen will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery immediately following services.
