Jeffrey Dale Melton

Jeffrey Dale Melton, 61, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2019. He was born May 16, 1958 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Lewis and Dorothy Melton.

Jeff was a machine operator for General Motors for 32 faithful years until his retirement in 2013.  He loved to fish and work with his hands, particularly working on houses. He was a kind, generous man who put other’s needs in front of his own; he was always first to volunteer to help those he loved. He adored his chihuahua, Booger, a rescue who he stepped up to save. Jeff’s passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet him; he was truly one of a kind.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Melton; mother, Dorothy Melton (Elpers). He is survived by his life partner of 12 years, Lynn Williamson; siblings, Elaine (Dave) Grant, Mary Carter (Mike Pelko), Ronnie (Pam) Melton, Rick Melton, and Nancy (Anthony) Rutt; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

All are invited to visit Friday, August 9 from 4-7 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 N Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222. Funeral services will take place Saturday, August 10 at 11 AM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery immediately following services.
