Jeannette W. Bradford

Jeannette Ann Walker Bradford passed away on February 2, 2018 at the age of 93. She was born on September 19, 1924 to Dean E. and Florence M. (Ley) Walker, and graduated from Shortridge High School in 1942. She married James Harry Bradford on April 18, 1945 and they raised three children. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Butler University in Library Science in 1969. She began working for the Carmel Public Library in 1964 and was head librarian from 1969 to her retirement in 1980. Jeannette loved playing bridge with her friends knitting and sewing. She and her husband traveled extensively and loved visiting new places.

Jeannette spent the last few years caring for her husband of 72 years who died on August 13, 2017. She is survived by daughter Blee (Barbara Lee) (Jones) Nighbert (Noell), son Daniel Walker Bradford (Susan), and daughter Beth Elaine (Andrews) Kimble (Phil), grandchildren Julie (Bradford) Dunlap (Charles), Steven Bradford (Robin), Michael W. Jones (Rachel), Matthew W. Jones (Leah), Clint D. Andrews (deceased), and Derek Andrews, and great-grandchildren Sarah Dunlap, Sam Dunlap, Lily Jones, Violet Jones, Griffin Jones, Ethan Jones, Elijah Andrews, Makayla Andrews and Mason Andrews.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services at Carmel Cemetery.
