Jeannette L. Whittle, 54 of Westfield, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at her home. Jeannette was born May 15, 1967 in Crawfordsville, IN. She was a graduate of Purdue University.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Jeannette’s life from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, December 20 at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park, in Westfield.
Jeannette is survived by her husband, Simon; children, Colin Whittle and Taylor Whittle; grandchildren, Tabitha Whittle and Freyja Whittle-Cunanan; father, James Newton; brother, Ryan Newton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sonya Phillips Newton; brother, Roger Newton.
Jeannette passed peacefully at home, after a year-long battle with ALS and will be missed by all of us. She had a heart of gold, with a way of just being there, making you feel you could empty your heart out. She was the sun during the dark days, our center of gravity, she faced ALS the best she could, with the support of her family.
A wonderful wife, caring mother, and doting grandmother, Jeannette was full of love and patience for everyone. Always quietly encouraging everyone to do well and be better people. She always had a kind word and was able to make any situation laughable with a simple eyebrow raise or facial expression, no words needed! She was the glue that held the family together and the rubber band that brought us all back when we went too far.
She loved to travel and had a passion for storytelling, art, and history; making trips fun, educational, and great experiences. A homemaker for the last several years, she was able to turn this passion for history and storytelling towards her other joy, writing, completing 2 historical fiction novels.
Married for 32 years, she was our love, our muse, providing unwavering support for everything we did together. Words cannot express our feeling for this beautiful woman, and we will miss having her here. She will always be in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Association, Indiana Chapter in Honor of Jeannette would be welcomed.
