Jeanne Acheson, age 93, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away surrounded by family at 1:15pm on Thursday March 20, 2025, and is awaiting the return of the Lord. (I Thess. 4:13-18).
Jeanne was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 29, 1932, to Robert and Marguerite (Courtney) McClain. She graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1949 and married Paul R. Ewing on September 1, 1950, at Bellaire United Methodist Church. Jeanne graduated from the John Robert Powers School of Interior Design in 1972.
Jeanne later married Douglas (Doug) L. Acheson of Windsor, Ontario, Canada on May 3, 1973, at Christ Church Cathedral. Over the years, Jeanne worked in data entry at Keypunching Services, Danner’s and at American States Insurance Company as the keypunching department supervisor. Upon taking an early retirement, Jeanne and Doug founded a post-card dealership and traveled extensively attending post-card shows for many years. After Doug passed in 1998, Jeanne was active in helping her neighbors, fostering numerous stray cats and playing bridge with friends. Jeanne also enjoyed entertaining and interior decorating. She is survived by her last cat, Tiger.
Jeanne had two children from her marriage to Paul Ewing who survive her, Mike and David Ewing. She is also survived by Mike’s daughters, her granddaughters, Lauren and Lain Ewing.
