Jeanette Dixon McBroom, age 84, of Indianapolis, IN passed away March 9, 2018. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 25, 1933 to her parents, Loren and Mabel (Mustain) Dixon.
Mrs. McBroom was a 1951 graduate of Thomas Carr Howe High School, and a 1984 graduate of IUPUI, where she earned an associates degree with honors. Mrs. McBroom was a devoted wife and homemaker and during her career, had been employed at Indiana Bell Telephone Company, Guarantee Insurance Company, and the Parks and Recreation Department of Kettering, Ohio. She had also volunteered for Family Service Association, Community Hospital East and the Oasis Tutoring Program. Mrs. McBroom was a member of All Souls Unitarian Church and the Junior Civic Theatre of 1946 and `47.
Mrs. McBroom was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Grant McBroom and is survived by her children: Christine McBroom of Milford, OH, Gail Becher of Hackensack, MN, Brian McBroom of Perrysburg, OH and Evan McBroom of Carmel, IN; five grandchildren: Shawn Ford, Bailey McBroom, Hanna McBroom, Blaine McBroom, and Kevin McBroom; sister, Gloria Mattern of Bakersfield, CA; and sister-in-law Sandy Dixon of Indianapolis, IN.
Family and friends may call from 4pm until 6pm, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis. Graveside services will be held privately at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
