Jeanetta F. Mandrell, 87, passed away on November 11, 2019. She was born on October 22, 1932 to the late Carsmer M. Pruitt and Ida Bell Crabtree Pruitt Walker in Allen Springs Kentucky. She lived in Indianapolis Indiana from age 20 to age 82. She moved to live with her daughter, Cynthia and son-in-law David, in Austin Texas in 2014 and lived with them until her passing.
Jeanetta was known for her comfort cooking and made from scratch pies and cakes. Jeanetta also enjoyed crochet and tending to her flowers,her signature red geraniums and daffodils among other flowers. Jeanetta and her husband Joe also planted a vegetable garden each year which she spent time in the summer tending. Jeanetta would harvest the crops of tomatoes and green beans then can the vegetables in the same day of harvesting and preparation. She wanted the vegetables preserved as fresh as she could get them.
Jeanetta is survived by her adoring daughter, Cynthia and her husband David Weintraut; granddaughters, Stephanie and Jennifer Weintraut; and her brother Ray Pruitt, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by, her beloved husband Joe C. Mandrell, beloved Mother Ida and Father Carsmer M. Pruitt; beloved sister Louise Darrah and brother Gerald Pruitt.
Visitation will be held on Monday November 18, 2019 from 12PM-1PM with funeral services to begin at 1PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229
