Jean L. Lasley, 74, of Indianapolis, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. She left this world to regain her voice and mobility to sing and dance as she rejoices with the angels.
Jean was born on January 9, 1944 in Watseka, IL to the late Arthur William and Leona (Madison) Lowe. She was a 1962 graduate of Morocco High School and earned a scholarship to attend nursing school in Indianapolis. Jean graduated in 1966 from the Marion County General Hospital School of Nursing, and dedicated over 30 years of service to Wishard Memorial Hospital. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Jean was a member of Downey Avenue Christian Church.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Cindy (John) Niehus and Terri (Mark) Amos; grandchildren, Allison, Madison, Mason, Eric, Maggie and Colton. Jean is also survived by her siblings, Joan Burris, Judy (Mike) Cobleigh, Jennie (Jerry) Kellner, Nancy Ingram, Joyce (Collin) Parker, William “Bill” Lowe, Janis (Todd) Johnson, Susan Lasley; and 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Dowty; granddaughter, Kaitlyn; former husband, Jack Lasley; and 2 nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 5-8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East. Funeral services will take place on Saturday morning at 10am, with additional visitation 1 hour prior to the service, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
