Jean Gunderson Hansen

Jean Gunderson Hansen, 87, passed away on 12/31/2020 in Indianapolis, IN.

Jean was born in Flint, Michigan to Lillian Belle Elliott and Oscar Melbourne Gunderson.  She was nominated to the National Honor Society and lettered in both field hockey and tennis, graduating from Mackenzie High School in Detroit.  She attended the University of Michigan, joining Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. In 1953, she married Nikolas Forbes Hansen. Jean volunteered as a Candy Striper for Plymouth, Michigan Children’s Home, worked with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and was a volunteer at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum for 12 years with her husband.  She is survived by her children: Catherine Hansen, PhD, Kendall Hansen, MD, Cynthia Hansen Bills, DDS, S. Clarissa Hansen Bevans, MT(ASCP) , and Christopher Hansen. She had a stillborn Keith Hansen. Surviving grandchildren are Chad Hansen, Brandon Bevans, Nicolette Hansen, Jeremy Bevans, Heather Bevans, Isabelle Hansen, Austin Moorefield, and Savannah Jean Hansen and  a great grand-daughter Isabella Hansen/Turner.  Her husband Nikolas F. Hansen, M.D. preceded her in death June 15, 2014.
