Jean E. Childrey

Jean Elizabeth (Dixie) Childrey was born February 15, 1933, to Mary Ann Calland and Clarence Dixie Sr. in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born the younger sister to her loving brother Clarence Dixie Jr. Jean met her future husband, Henry Childrey while working at L.S. Ayres, where she worked from age 18 until the couple wed, June 4, 1957. After marriage the couple relocated to Indianapolis where their beautiful daughter Susan was born.

Jean belonged to St Monica’s Catholic Church and had a fulfilling career with Indianapolis Public Schools, retiring in 1996. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16, 2019. Jean leaves to cherish her memory Sister-In-Law Elizabeth Dixie, nieces Cheryl Dixie, Rachele Dixie, and Michele Wells.
