Jean Ann Lawyer, 88 of Carmel, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022. Jean was born January 12, 1934 in Indianapolis to the late Kenneth and Janet Woodring. She was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School and attended DePauw University. While in high school, she was a state diving champion.
For the past 20 years, she has been a fixture at the Carmel Meijer working the u-scan check-out, fondly referred to as the “U-scan Queen”. Her earlier career was as partner in Hunter-Lawyer Personnel, a job placement service.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 20 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel.
Jean was the widow of Tyrell Herman Lawyer. She is survived by her children, Tyrell H. (wife, Linda) Lawyer, Jr., Terri L. (husband, Doug) Kemp, Debbie L. (husband, Brian) Glaze; grandchildren, Beth (husband, Josh) Wallner, Kyle (wife, JoAnna) Bauer, Amy (husband, Kyle) Reeves, Regina (husband, Todd) Hoogland, Cameron (wife, Emily) Glaze; great grandchildren, Joshua, Jr., Michael, and Isabella Wallner, Jeremiah Lawyer, Avery, Wilder and Charlie Bauer, Edison and Eden Reeves. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Tyrell Lawyer.
