Jayne D. Schlegel

Jayne D. Schlegel, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

She was born on September 10, 1934 in Chicago, IL to the late Fred Gore Sr. and Virginia (Frost) Gore.  Jayne was a 1952 graduate of Loretta Academy and later relocated to Indianapolis where she worked in food service for schools and companies in the community.  She was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church for 48 years.  She volunteered her time to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.  Jayne loved playing Bingo and socializing with her friends at the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Fatima Council.  She was known for sharing jokes and found great joy in making people laugh.

Jayne is survived by her children, Susan (Mike) Hassfurder, Don Schlegel, Timm Schlegel; nephew, Gary Koelbel, along with several other nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Schlegel; brother, Fred Gore, Jr.; sister, Patricia Koelbel.

Visitation for Mrs. Schlegel will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 10:30am-12pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7243 E. 10th Street Indianapolis, IN 46219 with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following.  Burial will follow services in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.  Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannbuchanan.com.
