Jaye Eugene Blazier, age 74, passed away peacefully of pancreatic cancer on April 24, 2021, in Muncie, Indiana. He was born on September 28, 1946 in Lebanon, Indiana to his parents Joseph Nelson Blazier and June Rose (Taylor) Blazier. They, along with his brothers Joseph Blazier II (June), James Blazier (Nita), and sisters, Joerenea Strong (Tom), Judith Arney (Harvey) and Jillayne Cox (Jimmy) preceded him in death.
He graduated from Noblesville High School in 1965 and married his middle school sweetheart Connie Dee (Schiller) Blazier in 1966. Jaye is survived by his wife of 54 years, their children Carla Blazier (Vic) of Rodenbach, Germany; C.J. Blazier (Jennifer) of Indianapolis, Indiana; Christine Schultz (Jason) of Yorktown, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jaye started at Ford Motor Company in 1968 on the assembly line. Over the next 35 years he earned an Automotive Technology Associates Degree from Ivy Technical College, became a Journeyman Plumber/ Pipefitter, and was a Trustee and Board Member at Large for the local UAW #1111.
Jaye was a three time Masonic Past Master, and was heavily involved in Lodges. Affiliations include member of Pendleton Lodge #44, Knights of the York Cross –Fort Wayne Honor Priory no. 8, Yeoman of York –Indianapolis Preceptory #4, Knights of Pythias Brotherhood 357, Knights Mason, Scottish Rite Indianapolis Valley, Indiana York Rite College No. 55, and member of Knights Templar Raper Commandery No. 1. He was Past Presiding Officer of York Rite Chapter, Council, and Commandery; Past Presiding Officer of Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America Indiana Forest #189, Past Worthy Patron of Order of Eastern Star, Past Associate Guardian of Job’s Daughter Bethel #108, and Past Assembly Dad of Rainbow Girls Assembly #50
When not attending lodge meetings Jaye enjoyed farming, raising beef cattle, attending family reunions, playing cards and board games, and yearly vacations in Treasure Island, Florida with his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday May 1, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Good Shepherd Chapel), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, from 12:30pm-2:00pm. Funeral services will begin afterwards at 2:00pm.
