Jay D. Meador

89 years old, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Jay was born in Macon County, Tennessee to the late, Coy and Ethyl Meador. He served in the U.S. Navy and later the U. S. Air Force. He was employed with General Motors for 28 years and was co-owner of Kiddie Kollege Day Care Centers for 20 years. Jay was the first board chairman of the Shepherd Community Center and Indianapolis Center for the Homeless. He was known for his loving and encouraging spirit to all who knew him.

Jay is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Joan Meador; children, John Meador (Sandy), Patricia Buescher (Thomas), Stephen Meador (Kathy), Susan Meador, Daniel Meador (Kimberly), and Thomas Meador; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.
Family and Friends may gather from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North 2706 Kessler Blvd W. Dr. Indianapolis. Funeral Service will be at 11 am Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Westside Church of the Nazarene 8610 W. 10th St. Indianapolis. Burial will follow in Washington Park North Cemetery.
