Janice (Jan) Faye Mchenry

Janice (Jan) Faye McHenry, 87, of Speedway passed away peacefully on May 7, 2021. She was born October 13, 1933 to the late Frank and Erma Hunsicker. She graduated from Gosport High School in 1951. Following graduation, Jan moved to Indianapolis where, she worked for IPL until marriage to her husband Bob. She then turned her attention to raising a family. Jan worked part time while her sons were in high school. She enjoyed working at the High School Cafeteria, Hogan Mayflower, and Coca Cola. Jan was an avid Euchre player who played in many groups and clubs. Her other hobbies included, traveling around the country with Bob and going to her grandkids school and sporting events. She loved traveling around watching them play!! She also enjoyed working puzzles during the winter.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2011. She is survived by her loving sons, Michael (Marsha) McHenry of Speedway, IN and Larry (Tami) McHenry of Tampa, FL. Jan is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Lindsey (Eric) Slotter, Thomas and Melanie McHenry; and 2 step-grandchildren, Jaime and Justine. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 10-12pm at Flanner Buchanan-Speedway 2950 N. High School Road. A funeral service will follow at 12pm.
