Janet Yvonne Smith

Janet Yvonne (Coffey) Smith passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 70.  Janet was born in Franklin, IN on August 20, 1952 to parents, Gus and Avanell (Burton) Coffey.  She graduated from Lawrence Central High School and worked in hospitality during her career, retiring in 2009.  Janet loved reading, classic tv shows, and music – especially Elvis.  Most of all, however, Janet enjoyed her family.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Avanell and her former spouse, Kenneth.

Janet will be lovingly missed by her children: Rebecca “Becky” Pardue (Talmadge), Rosemary Smith, and Arthur “Travis” Smith (Alicia); grandchildren, Anjelica Jovonne Marie Smith and Roman Wayne Travis Smith; siblings: Sandra Church, Karen Senteney, Donna Hanson, Timothy Coffey, Melinda Hanson and Anthony Coffey; as well as many other loving extended family members and beloved friends.

Visitation will be held from 4pm until 8pm, Monday, May 22, 2023 at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis), where funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 23^rd.  Burial will follow services in Washington Park East Cemetery.
