Janet Marie (Gessert) Principe, 65, of Indianapolis, IN passed away May 28, 2021.
Janet was born on May 28, 1956, in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. In her earlier years, she lived and raised her children in Kenosha, WI. Janet was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is known for her boisterous and contagious laugh. Anyone who knew or met Janet would speak of her kind and soft soul and her heart of gold, but do not cross her! She would help everyone in any way that she could and would give you the shirt off her back. She never met a stranger, often saying hello to everyone she saw.
Janet had a strong love of art. Many of her family and friends knew her to have a pencil and sketch pad in hand, drawing loved ones or images from National Geographic. She was a much better artist than she gave herself credit. When her grandchildren were young, Janet felt immense enjoyment in creating memories with them through arts & crafts, baking sweet treats and letting them lick the bowl (after of course, 😉), and trips to the park.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Gessert and Mabel Vivian Diem.
Janet is survived by her three beloved children, son Michael Gessert, daughter Alana Gessert, and daughter Jamie Gessert (Cutler); her grandchildren, Elin Gessert, Savana Williams, Isabella Anders, and Eamond Tobin; her brothers and sisters, Bonita Alvarez, Gene Gessert, John Gessert, Gerrie Mallak, Glen Gessert, Teresa Garcia (Marin Garcia Jr.), David Gessert; and a plethora of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
There will be no public service. Janet will be remembered and celebrated privately by her friends and family.
