Janet Jane Daskalos

Janet Jean (Cox) Daskalos, passed away on September 26, 2024 at the Hoosier Village Retirement Center in Zionsville, Indiana.

Janet was born the daughter of Gene and Barbara Cox on March 18, 1944. After graduating with a B.S. in Nursing, she went on to receive her Masters Degree in Nursing.

Janet married the love of her life, Dr. Frank Daskalos in Indianapolis. Married for over 50 years, they cared and loved each other until Frank's death. Serving others was Janet's motto. She practiced nursing in Cosmetic Surgery, serving on a IV team and also the Fire Department.

After receiving her Masters Degree, Janet chose to teach nursing at the Indianapolis Colleges. She cared for each and every student and spent hours at home preparing her lectures. 

Janet loved horses and enjoyed competing in Dressage Shows. She and Frank spent evenings at the barn. Janet would ride and Frank fed each horse carrots.

Janet and Frank also had a great love of Indiana Art. They enjoyed finding special pieces to add to their collection. Their collection has been donated to the Indianapolis Art Center.

Janet and Frank designed and built a home for them and Janet's family. After the passing of Janet's father, they invited her mother, aunt and uncle to live with them. As her family aged Janet cared for each one until they passed. Her love and care for them was exceptional.
