Jane Carol Schilling, age 80 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away December 29, 2020 after a long illness.
She was born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin to her loving parents, Joe and Edna Horock.
She prepared for her life’s work at Columbia School of Nursing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, fulfilling her dream of becoming a registered nurse.
For over forty years she served as an operating room nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a dedicated health care professional who loved her career, often sharing stories both touching and humorous of her many experiences she had while working in the medical field.
Her many hobbies included restoring antiques, creating beautiful and intricate needlework and reading – mostly murder mysteries. She snow skied in many resorts in the western states. She was an avid Bruce Springsteen fan and attended many of his live concerts. She loved traveling with her trip to Japan being the highlight. There she developed a love of Japanese cuisine.
Jane is survived by her niece Donna Horock (Steve Schmidt), nephews Thomas Horock (Dawn), John Horock (Janet), David Hansen, and her faithful little dog Olivia.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
