James Ward Davis of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on May 16, 2020 at the age of 71.
He was born September 23, 1948 in Anderson, Indiana to the late James Benton Davis and Cleta Mae Taylor Davis.
His hard work and dedication were exemplified in his 30 years spent working for General Motors serving in various plants including Anderson, IN; Albany, GA; Lakewood, GA; and Martinsburg, WV. He also worked for many years in various school districts as a bus driver. A big sports fan, he spent the first half of his life as an umpire. He also enjoyed country line dancing.
He is survived by his daughters Abby L. Davis and Taylor L. Windsor (Larry); siblings Dan Davis (Mary), Doug Davis (Jane), and Jane Mason; as well as seven nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs Duke and Zara.
The family is being served by Flanner Buchanan – Geist. He will be laid to rest at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery next to his parents.
