James Terry Himes

J. Terry Himes, 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away December 24, 2019. He was born December 27, 1936 in Indianapolis, Indiana to David and Marguerite Himes.

Though he was born and passed in Indiana, JT lived his life in numerous places across the United States. Texas, Arizona, Michigan, Indiana, where he worked in many roles from Police Officer to baker for Kroger on top of his lifelong ministry. He married the love of his life, Millie Martin, in 1957. They spent 51 beautiful years together until her passing in 2008; they remained deeply in love at the time of her passing. He was truly one of a kind and will be deeply missed by those who were blessed enough to meet him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Marguerite; wife, Millie Himes; daughter, Joanna Himes; and all but one sibling. Surviving to cherish his memory are children, Kandy Himes, Christina (Keith) Monnett, Phillip (Hope) Himes, Daniel (Nancy) Himes, Mark Himes; sister, Sherry; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members.

He will be privately interred at Floral Park Cemetery.
