James R. Wark

James R. Wark, 93, of Indianapolis, passed away July 11, 2017. He was born June 17, 1924.

James served in the army during WWII. He graduated from Purdue University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. He later retired from Indianapolis Power and Light Company (IPL). He was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, the Luminaries of IPL, Scientech, the Purdue Alumni Club of Indianapolis, the American Legion Post 3, and Eta Kappa Nu, the national engineering honor society.

James was preceded in passing by his loving wife, Louise (Balock) Wark; and his sons, David and John Wark; and brother Kenneth K. Wark. He is survived by his daughters, Linda and Julie Wark; his sister-in-law, Lois Wark; and his nieces and nephews, Lynn, Kathy, Karen, Norman, Larry, Don, and Ron.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Blvd E Dr., with the service immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Jim Wark Scholarship of the Purdue Alumni Club of Indianapolis. This scholarship is given annually to a student from Indiana earning a degree at Purdue University in engineering.
