James P. Seidensticker, Jr., noted trial and family law attorney died December 11, 2021. He practiced with Bose, McKinney, & Evans law firm for 39 years retiring as senior partner in 1997. Listed in The Best Lawyers in America and Who’s Who in American Law, he was a member of the American and Indiana Bar Association and the American and Indiana Trial Lawyers Association. For five years he was an adjunct professor of law at Indiana University Law School – Indianapolis. Mr. Seidensticker lived all his life in Indianapolis, graduating from Shortridge High School and earning his undergraduate and law degrees from Indiana University in 1952 and 1958 respectively. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi (a social fraternity at Indiana University) and Phi Delta Phi fraternities (an international legal honor society). Long active in Democratic politics, Mr. Seidensticker was National Committee for the Indiana Young Democrats and served for thirty years as staff counsel to Congressman Andy Jacobs. He was a precinct committeeman and ward chairman for almost 50 years. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Services will be Saturday, December 18th at 1 o’clock at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple, 1305 Broad Ripple Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46220. Calling will be from 11 AM to 1 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Broad Ripple. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery. Preceded him in death: parents, Sara P. and J. Porter Seidensticker; wife, Janice Bory Seidensticker; and sister, Helen Alltop Tubbs. Survivors: daughters, Sandy Piper (Dan), Ann Wendroff (Steve), and Caitilin Ashley; sons, Bryan Seidensticker (Elaina) and Chaoch Seidensticker; ten grandchildren; and one great grandson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to ASPCA; or Wounded Warrior Project; or Glaucoma Research Foundation
