James Parker Johns (Jimmie), 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on September 7, 2020.
Other than his family, Jimmie’s first love was music. He was an accomplished musician, singer and songwriter. He loved karaoke, golf and pool. Jimmie was an Army veteran and retired from Schwitzer, Inc. He was loved by everyone he met, everybody’s friend, grandpa and the best punisher you could ask for (Dairy Queen).
Jimmie is survived by his sister June (Guthrie) Lyles; children, Michael (Maureen) Donahue, Kenneth (Pam) Donahue, Timothy (Stella) Donahue, Deborah (Jim) Hall and Mary Beth (Troy) Robbins; his grandchildren, Michael (Donna) Donahue, James Donahue, Celeste Kiefner, Amanda (Nicholas) Boothe, Marissa Donahue, Lynette Donahue, Dennis Donahue, Karen Loucks, Kaiti Robbins and James Robbins; 9 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary L. Johns and his daughter Cynthia S. Johns.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020 from 4-8PM at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will be held the following day at 1PM with visitation held an hour prior. Jimmie will be laid to rest in Washington Park East Cemetery next to his late wife. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. From his family, thank you to everyone who treated him like their own father!!
