It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of James Michael Owens, affectionately known as both Jim and Mike, who died on February 19th, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on May 5th, 1944, Jim lived a life marked by dedication, service, and profound love for his family.
Jim proudly served his country in both the Army and the Air Force, exemplifying a strong sense of duty and patriotism. After his honorable military service, he transitioned to a career as a delivery driver for UPS, from which he eventually retired.
Throughout his life, Jim was a beloved figure, deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by a sister Deborah (Owens) Foster and his children: Sharon Kinnick (Brian) of Carmel, IN; Jaime Jones (Tim) of Noblesville, IN; Nicole Larson of Noblesville, IN; Ray Creek (Amber) of Clayton, IN; and Chris Jackson (Ola) of Reedville, VA. Jim also leaves behind a legacy of twelve cherished grandchildren: Brooke Utterback (Caleb), Tyler Crawford, Cameron Kinnick (Molly), Peyton Kinnick, Ashley Jones, John Larson, Taylor Larson, Sierra Creek, Kyle Riddle, Colton Jackson, Cali Jackson, and Caleb Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Owens and Geneva Ryan and grandchildren Dylan Creek and Kaitlin Riddle. Additionally, Jim is survived by his great-grandchildren: Emelynn Utterback, Harrison Utterback, and Mavery Utterback.
Jim's life friend, Vicki Allen, stood by his side, bringing him great comfort and joy.
Jim will be remembered for his unwavering love and care for his family. His warm presence, generous spirit, and steadfast support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
