James O. Jones

James O. Jones 70 of Bloomington, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on June 27, 2023. He was born on January 18, 1953, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late William C. and Florence Elizabeth (Thompson) Jones. Jimmy, as he is affectionately known worked as a Mechanic for the Teamsters Union for many years prior to retiring. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Jimmy enjoyed tinkering with classic cars and loved spending time with his family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren, always having an ample supply of Gummi Bears on hand for them. He was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. Jimmy is survived by his children, Anthony (Peggy) Jones, Steven (Julie) Jones, Jennifer Lee, his grandchildren, Lorrie, Daniel, Michael, Conley, Anthony, Brianna, Nathan, Dylan, Kayla, his 16 great grandchildren, and his fiancée, Lori Nelson. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by his son, William Jones, and his grandchildren, Brian, and Brittany, his sisters, Judith Stickles, Janet Heston, and his brothers, William Jones, Robert Jones, Allen Jones. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with the funeral service on Thursday, July 6, 2023, 11:00am at the funeral home. Jimmy will be laid to rest at Round Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, Indiana.
