James Morton Mcclure

James “Jim” Morton McClure, 76, of Carmel, Indiana, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on January 17, 2022. He was born on January 25, 1945, to the late Earl and Dessa (Harris) McClure, in Vincennes, IN.

Jim was an Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He received an honorable discharge as Captain. He graduated from Indiana University for both his Bachelors of Arts and his MBA. He was a CPA until his retirement. Jim had meaningful spiritual connections attending Irvington UMC in Indianapolis, IN and Grace UMC in Dayton, Ohio as well as becoming a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason like his father and grandfather before him.

Jim enjoyed singing both in barbershop and in church choir, playing bridge with friends, going on cruises, playing computer games, avidly reading, petting dogs, telling bad dad jokes, and puns, the eloquent use of 5 syllable words whenever possible, and decimating his competition in trivia games,

Jim is survived by his loving wife, his “Princess”, Sharon “Sherry” (McMurray) McClure; son, David (wife Michelle), of Ohio; daughter, Beth Bosak (husband Steve) of Illinois; and grandchildren, Bambi, James, Cassady, Emily and Jenna. He is survived by his sister Ruth Ann Sanders (husband Scott) of Bloomington, IN and their family . He is preceded in death by his parents.

The family is forever indebted to the care Jim received in his decline by the Barrington of Carmel, Dr Jared Brosch and his NP Julie Connoly, all of the Paradigm Hospice staff and most importantly the unfathomable excellence by true angels from Senior1Care who have been at his side and ours for the last few years.

In lieu of flowers the family directs donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in his memory so that some day there may be a cure for this terrible affliction.
