James "Larry" Smith

James L. “Larry” Smith, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018. He was born on December 29, 1936 in Indianapolis as the son of Jacob and Frances (Roth) Smith. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.

Larry worked as a body shop manager for many years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Michigan City Charter Boat Association and he loved fishing.

Larry is survived by his wife, Eileen M. Smith; children, James L. (Karen) Smith II and Douglas L. (Christine) Smith; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Lavonne Elliott, Theresa Page, Norma Arnie, Carolyn Kashman and Marjorie Smith.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 4-7pm at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 12pm also at the funeral center. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
