James L. Bullard

James L. Bullardwas born in Terre Haute, Indiana on November 22, 1939 to Carson T. Bullard andElva Mae Hayes Bullard. He attendedLincoln Elementary, Wilson Jr. High and Wiley High School. He loved sports, mainly football. “Jim or Jimmy” called by most friends andfamily attended Indiana State University and received a Bachelor of ScienceDegree in Biological Sciences.

Jim married the love of his life, Delores King Bullard andof this union of 51 years a daughter, Dawn Delores Bullard was born in1970. Mixed with marriage; Jim served inthe U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Hewas honorably discharged in 1968.

Jim’s career in sales started at IBM and ended aftertwenty-five successful years with Xerox Corporation. He was respectfully called “Bull” by hisco-workers. He was a wonderful husbandand father.

Jim included a spiritual and social life into his work andfamily life. He was a member of EasternStar Church. He was a Life Member of hisfraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha. He alsobelonged to the Enright Social Club and the Indianapolis Mules. He had past memberships in two serviceorganizations, 100 Black Men and Big Brothers. Because of Jim’s service to the community, a brick with James L. Bullardwas placed near Downtown.

James L. Bullard departed his life on earth at the age of77. It was early Friday morning March10, 2017. He was preceded in death by hisfather Carson T. Bullard, his mother Elva Mae Bullard Russell, and hisstepfather George W. Russell, and his sister, Betty Bullard Nealy.

James is survived by his wife, Delores, their daughter Dawn,his brother Frederick Carson (Betsy) and his “Little Brother” Gregory. Included in this beloved family is a host ofnieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeralservices will be held 1:00 PM, Friday,March 17, 2017 at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd.,Indianapolis, IN. Visitation will beheld from 11:00 AM until the service time on Friday. Entombment will be in Washington Park NorthCemetery.
