James K. Heller (Jim) age 88 of Grove City, Ohio died February 16, 2021 at his residence under the care of Hospice. James was born August 9, 1932 in Indianapolis Indiana to the late Robert O. Heller and Hannah Jane Wolfe Heller Florence.
He was a graduate of Purdue University, a member of the National Air Transportation Honorary Scholastic Fraternity Sigma Alpha Tau and a graduate of Warren Central High School. James was a US Army veteran and served in Korea. He was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, the Grove City Historical Society, and the YMCA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Pollard Heller, sister Patricia S. Bluhm, brother Robert E. Heller, Survivors include his daughters Sharon (Ted) Shaum, Laura (Russ) Randall, son Ross (Amy) Heller, and daughters Sandra (Donald Jr) Thomas, and Tracey (Geoff) Rigney. 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 more great grandchildren on the way. Sister Linda J. Hosman lives in Farmington Hills MI.
Jim retired in 1991 from AC Delco, a division of General Motors after 32 years of service and worked several years after retirement at Automotive Distributers Warehouse in Columbus, OH. Jim loved all social activities including telling stories, playing the ukulele, dad jokes and making people laugh. In his younger years he loved to water ski and taught everyone that visited how to water ski if they did not know how. Jim’s last water-skiing adventure was at the age of 80!
Friends may visit Friday, February 26, from 4-7 PM at Spence-Miller Funeral Home 2697 Columbus Street Grove City, Ohio. His funeral will take place 1:30 PM Saturday February 27, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan-Memorial Park 9350 E. Washington Street Indianapolis, Indiana.
