James "Jim" Edward Barron, Sr.

James “Jim” Edward Barron, Sr., 72 of Mooresville, Indiana passed away February 7, 2019 at home. He was born October 16, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William and Hellen Barron; he was one of 8 children.

Born and raised in Indianapolis, Jim attended St. Anthony Catholic School and Washington High School. It was in high school he met the love of his life Nancy. They shared their first date in October 1963 at their high school’s football game and the rest is history. They married in 1965 and spent 53 beautiful years together; they remained deeply in love at the time of his passing. Jim worked as a mechanical repairman for Citizen’s gas for 37 years until his retirement. Family describes him as a stern by funny man, who loved to laugh but mostly loved to make others laugh. He had an ornery sense of humor; you truly had no idea what he would say next. He was a SAL member of the Mooresville American Legion #103 for more than 20 years. Most remember Jim as a man who loved tinkering in his barn, collecting antiques and tools, and enjoying his family. His passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet him; he was truly one of a kind.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen; siblings, Barbara Parkhurst, William Barron Jr., and Daniel Barron. Surviving to cherish his memory are loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Barron (Lupear); children; James Jr (Jen Corya) Barron, Jennifer (Bryan) Kalen; siblings, Mary Lou DeWeese, Sondra “Peggy” Barron, Linda (Robert) Parkhurst, Patricia Organ; 5 loving grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
