James “Jim” E. Estes, 69 of Madison, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2019. He was born on March 2, 1950 to John and Ruth Estes. He was married to Jessie “Bae” Henson-Estes in July 1999.
Jim is survived by his brother Ralph Estes, sisters, Mary Rowlett, Sue Estes, and Chevele Burnius; 4 children, Dean Qualls, Jerry Henson, Deanna Farrar, and Dion Watterson; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents John and Ruth Estes, wife Jessie “Bae” Henson-Estes; siblings, Ruth Ann “Sissy” McFarland and Johnny Estes.
Jim served for the US Army during the Vietnam War as a Light Weapons Infantry Division Specialist. Jim enjoyed his family, muscle cars, and hunting. He retired as a journeyman roofer for the International Brotherhood of Roofers for Local Union 119 located in Indianapolis, IN. After he retired, he returned to Madison, Indiana where he was an active member of the American Legion.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Flanner Buchanan-Floral Park, 425 N. Holt Rd., from 11AM-2PM, with the service immediately following. Burial will take place at Floral Park Cemetery.
