James "Jim" Dunham

Jim was born on November 5, 1940 to Beatrice and Joseph William Dunham in Anderson, IN. He lived in various places growing up including Danville, Indianapolis, and New Market, IN. He attended Ben Davis High School and graduated from New Market High School in 1958. He attended and graduated from Indiana State University in 1962 and began teaching math at Eastwood Junior High in Indianapolis, later Eastwood Middle School. He taught there for 39 years. He was a member of Pi Lambda Phi Fraternity. He married Darleth Duzenberry on December 15, 1962.
He loved his family (especially his wife of 59 years), cars, sports, and fishing in his younger years. He was a great storyteller with the occasional off-color joke. He was greatly loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Darleth, daughter Lisa McFadden (Steve), daughter Jill Raag (Tom), sister Joyce Laughlin (Dave), grandchildren Briana Dunham-Smith, Adrian Koehl, Mackenzie Koehl, Benjamin Raag, great grandchildren Makayla, Cade, and Alice. R.I.P. loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. We all love you to the moon and back!
A special thanks goes to Amy Clayton at Community East Heart Clinic who for the last few years, was so dedicated in her care of Jim.
Funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46229 with entombment to follow in Lincoln Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.
