James “Jim” Edward Curtis, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away October 20th, 2021. He has now been reunited with the love of his life, Jeanie. He was born in Indianapolis, February 4th, 1947, and was the youngest son of Horace and Bertha (McKelvey) Curtis.
On July 22nd, 1994, he married his beloved Jean Ann “Jeanie”. They were a couple for 38 years and married for 27 years.
Before retiring, Jim worked in many professions. His last venture was owning his own tow truck company, Flame Dog Transport.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, father figure to his nieces and nephews, and friend. He liked spending time with the family he loved so dearly, and friends who were as close as family. Jim enjoyed spending time on the golf course every week. He spent his Wednesday afternoons enjoying a beer with neighbors, Mike and Carl. Jim will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his sons David (Heidi) Curtis, Chris (Crystal) Shea, and Jason Curtis; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; sister Carolyn (Curtis) Watson; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Jean Ann Curtis; mother-in-law, Margene (McGee) Jones; Granddaughter, Charly Curtis; and siblings: Alice Taulman, Paul Curtis, and Martha Walker.
Visitation for Jim will be Friday, October 29th, from 6-8pm, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. Everyone is encouraged to dress casually for Jim’s visitation.
