Jim grew up in Indianapolis and attended Arsenal Tech H.S. and from there he joined the US Marine Corp. As the Korean War began, Jim and his 5th Marines were involved in the initial invasion thru to Chosin N. Korea where he was seriously wounded. Corporal James F. White was a member of the Elite “Chosin Few of the 5th Marines”. Jim will be delivered full military honors. After the war, James married Alberta Littell, who precedes him in death. They were married 65 years. Together they had three sons, Danny J. (Doretta), Douglas M. (Gina), Donald R. (Celia) which survive them. 9 grandchildren survive them, with 3 others preceding them in death. James was a Union Electrician with AM General and Stewart Warner. Jim was also known as the Pro Wrestling Legend Masher Stevens. He wrestled with other greats like Dick the Bruiser, the Sheik, King Kong Brody, Randy Savage and many more. Jim was a great husband, father, and friend to many.
Viewing will be 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Monday February 20, 2023, with funeral at 1:30 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway at 2950 N. High School Road in Indianapolis. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
