James F. Lancaster, son of Roy and Gertrude Lancaster (both deceased) passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, in Indianapolis, IN. James was born on Sunday, August 20, l933, in Edmonson County, KY.
He was a member of Seaton Park Baptist Church, Louisville, KY. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from Sears, Roebuck and Company after 50 years.
James will be remembered for following the Second Greatest Commandment Matthew 22:39 (KJV) “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself”. This was never more evident than the 30-year friendship and love James had for his neighbors, Edith (deceased) and George Brunner.
James was one of the few people who never spoke an ill word about anyone and was a man of great patience. He lived his life with the willingness to help anyone at anytime and never had a selfish wish for himself.
He will be sadly missed by his family. He is survived by his sister, Lee (Bill) Dorris; and nephews and nieces Doug (Cathy), Kelli (Austin), Baylee, Billi, Jeff (Michelle); and his cousin Glenda (Scott) Hill-King.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 P.M., Saturday, November 13, 2021 with visitation from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park, 4180 Westfield Road (Highway 32), Westfield, IN 46062. Online condolences may be shared by visiting flannerbuchanan.com.
