James Edwin Schroeder

James Edwin Schroeder, MD, 79, Indianapolis, went home to be with his Lord February 5, 2019. Dr. Schroeder graduated from Broad Ripple High School before going on to Indiana University to earn his doctorate from the IU School of Medicine. He served in the United States Air Force as captain at Grissom Air Force Base. He practiced medicine for over 50 years and was a member of Meridian Street United Methodist Church. Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheila, son Erich, daughter Stacy, grandchildren Madison, Emily, Anson, and Miley, sister-in-law Diana, nephew Donald, niece Sharon, and cousin Tom Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Janet Schroeder, brother Jerrold Schroeder, and brother-in-law Michael Cooney. Memorial contributions may be made to Meridian Street United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Saturday at Meridian Street United Methodist Church, 5500 N Meridian St, Indianapolis, IN 46208, from 10-12pm. A memorial service will be held there at 12pm.
