James Edward Slone

James Edward Slone, 70, of New Palestine, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born on December 17, 1947 in Beech Grove to the late Hershel H. and Emogene (Gresham) Slone.  Jim was a 1966 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School where he was a member of the Chess Team.  Jim worked as a Pressman for Sentinel Printing, Design Printing (30 years), Ropkey Graphics, and retired in 2014 from Jackson Press.  He was a longtime member of the Master Printers of America, and the Irvington Presbyterian Church Bowling League.  Jim also enjoyed traveling all over the country with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Barbara A. Slone; children, Jill (Shane) Ailey, Jennifer (Matthew) Agee and James E. (Kary) Slone, Jr.; 3 grandchildren, Drew Agee, Madison and Matthew Slone.  Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Slone.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2018 from 4-8pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East.  Funeral services will take place on Friday at 1pm.  Burial will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.  Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
