James David Colvard

James David Colvard, 70, passed away on January 23, 2023.
He was born on December 13, 1952, in Gadsden, Alabama, the son of Claude and
Marie Colvard.
Growing up in Gadsen, AL his love of sports and Alabama football began. Roll
tide! James, proudly serving in the United States Airforce for 23 years, served in
Desert Storm. He retired as a Master Sergeant in 1992. He raised two daughters.
while serving active duty. He coached baseball and softball teams, competing in
racquetball tournaments and playing sports with his children. He had various
hobbies he shared with his children and grandchildren, including traveling to
support his team and their teams! He became a member of Lifepointe church. He
loved the fellowship of those who had the shared faith that he had in the Lord. He
became a deacon of the church, volunteering with various charities, and attending
his grandchildren’s games. He often took his grandchildren volunteering to hand
out food and turkey’s during the holidays. He loved playing golf and spending time
with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; daughters, Lisa and Mindy; son in law,
Anthony; stepdaughters, Darlene (Chris) and Jennifer (Craig); stepson, Jeff (Tabby); grandchildren, Ashley,
Melinda, Jasmine, Mackenzie, Demetic, Kailey, Bree, Channing, Nolan, Hayden,
Cooper, and Sarah; sisters, Lynn and Shirley.
He was preceded in death by Nellie and Claude his parents, his brother Charles,
sister Peggy.
Funeral service will be held Noon Monday, January 30, 2023, at LifePoint Church,
8540 Combs Road, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46237, with burial at 1:30 p.m. at
Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the same location from 10 a.m.
until time of service.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Servants Heart, Wounded
Warriors, and Missions at Lifepoint.
