James D. Jd- Moore

James D. “JD” Moore 85 of Indianapolis died Thursday May 12, 2016. Jim was born on June 20, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN to Junior Dewey and Helen Ellen (Olsen) Moore. Jim served our country in the Army Indiana National Guard. As his friends affectionately called him “JD” he retired from plant 5 after 38 years as a sheet metal worker at Allison’s a Division of General Motors. Jim continued to serve our community as a Volunteer for the Wayne Township Fire Department. He was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #162, Past Master of the North Park Masonic Lodge #646, Murat Shrine and York Rite. He was also a member Marion CO. Fish and Game Club. Jim's true passion and greatest satisfaction was doing transportation for the Shrine and being around the children and their parents doing humanitarian work and reception work. Calling will be held on Sunday May 15, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway from 4 to 8 pm with additional calling will be at the funeral center on Monday May 16, 2016 from Noon to service time at 2 pm. Jim is survived by his wife Marian (Hurley) Moore, and their daughter Marcia Ann (James Bernard) Palmore and his grandson James R. Palmore and great grandchildren Hannah, Taylor and Morgan Palmore.
