James E. Clark Sr.

James Edward Clark Sr. (January 4, 1943 -Nov 18, 2023)

James Edward Clark Sr., 80, of Indianapolis, died peacefully in his home, on November 18, 2023.

Jim was born on January 4, 1943 in Somerset, Kentucky and grew up in Greenwood, Kentucky. He graduated from McCreary County High School in 1961.

Jim worked for Ford Motor Company for 35 years prior to retiring in 2005.

Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jerry Evelyn (Walters) Clark, his parents Barney Oral Clark and Dora Mae (Young) Clark, and six brothers and one sister.

He is survived by his three children, Jennifer E. (Clark) [Steve] Karnes, Debbie L. Clark, and James E. [Kelly] Clark Jr., and six grandchildren: Allison J. Karnes [Max Parsons], Abigail L. (Karnes) [Drew] Collins, Hayden J. Clark, Olivia P. Clark, Amelia G. Clark, and Eli G. Clark.

Jim was a storyteller. He was kind and generous and he loved his family. Being a Papaw to his grandbabies was one of the most important things to him. Jim also enjoyed spending time at the family’s farm in Shoals, Indiana.
