Mr. James Allen Burnett (“JB”) was born May 19, 1934. He was the son of Gilbert and Emma Burnett. His parents preceded him in death.
JB received his education in the Indianapolis Public Schools. On December 20, 1952, JB was united in holy matrimony to Norma Jean Allen and to this union five sons and one daughter were born.
Soon after JB was drafted into the United States Army, where he fought in the Korean war. He was honorably discharged.
JB worked for the Indianapolis School Board. He later was employed as a manager of Environmental Services at Wishard Hospital until his retirement. After retirement, he picked up part-time employment with Securitas Security as a security officer.
On August 27, 1985, JB married Carole Clark which lasted 32 years. She preceded him in death. JB wasn’t the brightest man. We don’t know if it was his good looks, his smooth lips, or his charm. Whichever it was it made him successful. JB had one brother and two sisters that preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory five sons, Larry (Sandra), Randy (Pam), Jay (Linda), Ricky (Cassandri), Timothy (Terri) Burnett; one daughter, Jamie Allen Burnett-Hollins (Marvin), 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, two sisters, Shirley Kemp and Doloris Riskka and a host of nephews and nieces.
