Jack Carl Shulse, 86 of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday April 8, 2021. He was born on September 13, 1934 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Thomas and Henrietta Shulse. He was a proud graduate of Tech High School. Jack dutifully served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a dedicated employer for the United States Postal Service for many years—retiring in 1990. After retirement, he was a greeter at Meijer. Jack was also a member of Heather Hills Baptist Church where he selflessly served as a greeter, Deacon, and a Sunday School Teacher—the children affectionately referred to him as “Mr. Snoopy”. Jack also enjoyed baseball—he even kept the score books at his grandchildren’s games. Jack touched many lives with his personable nature. He never knew a stranger and will be missed sorely by all who loved him.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Pearl; son, John Thomas (Carla) Shulse; daughter, Ruth Ann (Richard) Gehrich; grandchildren, Robert, Jacob, Brandon, Thomas, Nicholas, and Erin; great grandchildren, Noah, and Kai; sister, Alice Jean Shulse; and brother, George Thomas (Mary Alice) Shulse.
Friends and family are invited to gather from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday April 12, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229). Additional visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 13, 2021 at 11:00 am, where a service will begin at 12:00 pm.
