Jack Martin Amigh, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
He was born on January 11, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John Earl and Nellie (Arelt) Amigh. Jack was a 1947 graduate of South Hill High School in Pittsburgh, and shortly after joined the US Army, serving honorably during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Maxine Vahle, on April 18, 1953, and soon after moved his young family to the Indianapolis area. Jack worked for Thomas and Skinner and also, Permanent Magnet Co., where he served as a Sales Manager and retired after 30+ years of service. He was active in several Lutheran Churches, and a longtime member of Emmanuel Lutheran in Indianapolis. Jack enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League Baseball and loved to cheer on his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Maxine Amigh; children, Valerie (Don) Wesseling, Richard (Denise) Amigh, Jack (Nikki) Amigh, Jr., Robert (Claudia) Amigh; grandchildren, Rachel, Zachary, Joel, Luke, Tori; and 5 great-grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Amigh.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park from 5-7pm. Additional visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10-11am, with funeral services immediately following. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
