Jack Harmon

Jack D. Harmon of Carmel, IN, passed away on January 17, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born in Marion, OH, on July 5, 1943, to parents, Jack W. and Dorothy. (Barker) Harmon. 

Jack married Pamela Sanders on December 12, 1967, they spent 58 wonderful years together, she survives. He is survived by children, Niki (Brad) Snyder and Todd (Barb) Harmon; brother, David (Jan) Harmon; sister, Terri (Art) Mitchell; furbabies, Harry and Izzy, nieces, Jennifer Harmon, Holly (Stacy) Evans, Melissa Harmon, Amber (Andrew) Hill; nephews, Chad Harmon, Mike Harmon and Phillip Hill. Jack also had a special place in his heart for his sister-in-law Candy and her family, Pam's sister. He loved Candy and her son Bobby (Candace), daughter Jenny (Tommy) and their children (Jack's great nieces and nephews). Jack's family meant the world to him. He loved them very much.

Jack served in the United States Navy and graduated from the University of Florida. He was a true Florida Gator! Jack was an Electrical Engineer and traveled the world designing alternators and batteries for Western Electric, Delco, Delphi and Prestolite Electronics. After retirement, Jack formed a consulting company, Gator Electronics. He had numerous patents, and designed one of the first working synthesizers. He enjoyed refereeing college basketball, football and Upward basketball at his church. He also ran marathons in his spare time!

Jack served as a deacon for several years and was heavily involved in the church. He loved his church and church family at Trinity Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patty Brown; brother, Rick Harmon; half-sister, Dixie Corcoran-Hall.
