Jack A. Massingale, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2019.

He was born on January 30, 1938 in Monticello, KY to the late Will and Virginia (Morris) Massingale. Jack was a hard worker, working from a young age to help support his large family. He served in the National Guard and worked as a machinist until his retirement in 1998. Following his retirement, Jack worked in maintenance and as a groundskeeper. He was an avid Nascar fan; and loved supporting the local sports teams, the Colts and Pacers. Jack could often be found fishing, and enjoying the quiet, simple beauty found in nature.

He is survived by his children, Debra, Jenny, Sandy, Will and Jeff; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his sister, Geraldine. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife Shirley; and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 4-8pm at Flanner Buchanan-Memorial Park. Funeral services will take place on Saturday morning at 11am, also in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Diabetes Association.
