J Fred Feldwisch

J. Fred Feldwisch, 75, Carmel, passed away November 20, 2022. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 2, 1947, to the late L.E. and Gertrude (Cain) Feldwisch.

Fred graduated from Carroll High School and The Ohio State University where he earned a B.S. degree in Agriculture. While at Ohio State, he was an active member of DTS fraternity, developing many lifelong friendships. After he graduated, he served in the Army under the veterinary inspection division and inspected meat.

Fred worked for 42 years in the metal container industry. He did quality control and sales, servicing companies like Ball Corporation, Red Gold, Stokely.

He enjoyed golfing and going to the Indy 500. He also coached youth soccer and basketball through Carmel Dad’s Club and was a commissioner with that organization. He refereed soccer also and was a trustee at Orchard Park Presbyterian Church for several years. His true passion was working in his yard, but most of all, Fred dearly loved his five granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, uncles, cousins, sister-in-law Jane Moore, and brother-in-law Alfred Call. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan; his son Chris Feldwisch (Rachel); his daughter Stacie O’Connell (Kevin); and granddaughters Makena and Kiersten Feldwisch, and Avery, Morgan, and Brynn O’Connell; and sister Greta Call; brother-in-law Jim Moore; as well as two nieces and two nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive, Carmel, IN on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until time of service. Interment at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery 9700 Allisonville, Indianapolis, IN 46250 to immediately follow services.
